We build lab informatics around the way a lab already works, one deployment at a time.

Why we started

We were both physics students. We worked in wet labs. And we could not believe how bad the software was at the frontier of research: the lab ran on spreadsheets, share drives, and the one person who knew where everything was.

Nobody had fixed it because software shaped to one lab has always meant a custom build, and in a regulated lab a custom build means a validation effort nobody can afford twice. So labs bend to the template, and the workflow bends with them.

What changed

Agents make the expensive half cheap. Agentic testers produce the validation package, so software built for one lab can be qualified without a year of manual work. That is the bet: once proving software correct is cheap, software can finally fit the lab instead of the other way round.

It is also why the approach starts with mapping rather than with a demo. If the system is going to take the shape of your workflow, somebody has to go and look at your workflow.

How we build

One deployment per customer, on its own database. We start with one high-friction workflow, baseline it, build around it, and measure. We build what your lab needs and ship it with its validation package, and you can modify the platform yourself. You upgrade on your own schedule.

If VSQRD disappeared tomorrow, your system would still run, and your data would still be yours.

Who you actually deal with

The two of us. The people in the discovery session are the people who build the thing and the people who answer when something breaks. There is no account manager between you and the engineering, and no delivery team the work gets handed to.

That is a real constraint as well as a feature: we take on a small number of labs at a time, and we would rather say so than overbook and be slow.

Who we are

VSQRD is in San Francisco.

Getting in touch

Write to us and we answer ourselves. If you would rather start with a discovery session, bring the workflow that costs you most.
